Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SLS Consulting LLC, doing business as Closer (“Closer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit gettingcloser.co, join our membership, attend our events, use our community or AI dating coach, or participate in our matchmaking database.
Closer is a dating and connection membership. That means some of the information we handle is personal and sensitive by nature: your relationship goals, who you are attracted to, your photos, and things you say out loud in a room full of other people. We want you to know exactly what happens to it.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
1. The short version
- We collect what you give us, what happens when you use the site, and what we record at events and sessions.
- We photograph and film live events, and we record online sessions with members on camera. Those recordings go into our member archive and our marketing. See Section 5.
- If you join the matchmaking database, our matchmakers share your profile with potential matches, including Sophy Love clients who are not Closer members. Your contact information is only released after both people agree to an introduction. See Section 6.
- Your AI dating coach conversations are stored and can be read by our staff. See Section 7.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can opt out of marketing, pause or delete your matchmaking profile, request removal of media, and ask us to delete your data. See Sections 11 and 12.
2. Information you give us
Account and membership. Name, email address, phone number, zip code or city, password, and billing information.
Profile and intake. Age or birth date, photos, occupation, education, relationship history and status, whether you have or want children, lifestyle details, values, what you are looking for in a partner, and anything else you choose to tell us in an application, interview, questionnaire, or conversation with our team.
Sensitive information. To do our work, we may collect and use information that is treated as sensitive under some privacy laws, including your sexual orientation, the gender or genders you date, your relationship structure and dating preferences, and, if you volunteer it, information about your religion, ethnicity, health, or personal history. You provide this knowingly and voluntarily when you fill out a profile or speak with our team. We use it only to operate the membership, facilitate events, and make matchmaking judgments. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
Event participation. Which events you register for, attend, or cancel, dietary or accessibility needs, and, after an event, who you indicated interest in connecting with.
Community content. Your community profile, posts, comments, and messages.
AI coach conversations. Your text messages and voice recordings with the AI dating coach, and transcripts of them.
Communications. Emails, texts, support requests, survey answers, testimonials, and feedback you send us.
Free guide signup. First name, zip code, and email address.
3. Information we collect automatically
When you use the site or member platforms, we and our providers may collect device and browser type, IP address, general location inferred from IP address, pages viewed, referring URLs, time on page, links clicked, email opens and clicks, and similar analytics data. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. See Section 9.
4. Information we receive from others
- Payment processor: confirmation of payment, last four digits of your card, and billing status. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Community and video platforms: activity and account data from the third-party platforms that host our community, courses, and sessions.
- Other members and clients: feedback about an introduction or an event interaction, including reports of concerning behavior.
- Sophy Love: if you are also a client of the Sophy Love matchmaking practice, information from that relationship may inform your consideration for Closer introductions.
5. Photos, video, and session recordings
What we record. We photograph and film live Closer events. We record online strategy sessions and community calls with participants visible and audible on camera. Those session recordings become part of the searchable member archive.
How we use this media. We use photos, video, and audio from events and sessions for:
- Marketing, advertising, promotion, social media, and our website
- Email, printed materials, press, and partner communications
- Member-facing course content and the searchable session archive
- Internal training, facilitator development, and quality review
When you attend or participate, you grant us a broad, perpetual license to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and statements in these ways. The full terms of that release are in Section 9 of our Terms of Service.
What this means practically. Appearing in Closer materials may identify you publicly as someone who attended a singles or dating event. Please consider that before participating on camera.
Session archives and other members. Recorded sessions include other members talking about their real dating lives. Access to the archive is limited to current members, and members agree not to download, share, or repost that material. We cannot guarantee that every member will honor that, so please share at a level you are comfortable with.
Removal requests. Email privacy@gettingcloser.co describing the photo, clip, or recording you want removed. We will consider every request in good faith and make reasonable efforts to remove or replace it in channels we control. We cannot recall material that has already been printed, distributed, licensed, cached, reposted by others, or edited into an archived session.
Retention. We keep event and session media indefinitely unless we remove it in response to a request.
6. Matchmaking: how your information is shared
If you create a matchmaking profile, here is exactly what happens to it.
Internal review. Our matchmaking, facilitation, and event staff review and discuss your profile.
Sharing with potential matches. Our matchmakers share your profile, including your photos and the personal details you provided, with people they believe may be compatible with you. That includes:
- Other Closer members
- Clients of the Sophy Love matchmaking practice who are not Closer members
Contact information is held back. We do not release your phone number, email address, or last name to another person until both of you have reviewed the other and agreed to an introduction.
Not public, not sold. Matchmaking profiles are never published on the open internet, listed publicly, shown as swipeable profiles, or sold. [ Your control. You can pause or delete your matchmaking profile at any time in your account settings or by emailing privacy@gettingcloser.co. That stops future sharing. It cannot retract information already shared with someone, and it cannot make them forget what they saw.
After an introduction. Once we introduce two people, whatever you share with each other is between you. This policy does not govern what another person does with information you give them directly.
7. AI dating coach
Your conversations with the AI dating coach, including voice recordings and transcripts, are stored on our systems and with our AI providers.
Our staff can read them. We review conversations to improve the tool, train facilitators, ensure quality, investigate misuse, and follow up with you when you ask for support.
Third-party model providers. The coach is powered in part by third-party AI providers, which process your inputs under their own terms.
What not to share. Please do not put information into the AI coach that you would not want a member of our team to read, including government identifiers, financial account details, or another person’s private information.
8. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
